For the recent comments having fun with the idea of Sam being cucked because she is *his* secret girlfriend while giving out hand jobs lately, i think it's more a case that Sam just wants to get his nut off with Sophia, and will say anything and use any strategy he thinks will work on her.
He (like Dylan and the 3 young kids) is just exploiting her nurturing instincts with some transparent horseshit, and Sophia has plot-induced stupidity/naivety simply to allow scenes to happen with inexperienced children that often come off as whiney and desperate in their approach.

This theory is not new. Based on some of Sam's scenes and sentences, I had also assumed that Sam wasn't being honest with Sophia.
But L&P made it clear a long time ago that Sam really does have feelings for Sophia.
So you can attribute his behavior, which often seems borderline, to his inexperience and youth.
Nevertheless, I still think Sam's behavior and opinions are often almost unbearable. If L&P Sophia had contradicted Sam in one or two cases or pointed out to him that he was completely wrong, he would be more sympathetic to me.
