i was so privileged to be a part of The Critical Concert back in October, hosted by Will Crosswait of the Cantata Pansophical. three days of incredible critter music, across diverse genres, complete with some really rad interviews with these really rad musicians. you can find the VOD for all three days HERE: / thecantatapansophical . and then, please waste no time in checking out the insanely talented folks in the company of whom i’ve been so lucky to find myself!
we were challenged to work outside our comfort zone. this is my first foray into both digital instrumentation and video editing.

I don’t know if Lilli’s supersense for harmonies and chord progressions is learned, or in her DNA, but either way it is Masterclass-worthy.
Yeah i was thinking bout it, if she has musical theory. Her harmonies are really good.
My only complaint, and I want to make it clear that this is a very very very minor complaint, is that the thumbnail is so subdued that I almost strolled right past it. The song was, however lovely as usual.

I paused Critical Role to click this notification. I don't regret it at all. Love love love it!
When the song started my mind went blank and all I could think was ...Oh. It's a very beautiful song and it holds a lot of emotion in it. It feels like something that would come around by travelers exchanging tales around a fire or in a small town and an older traveler would get up and tell tales of the wilderness and the goddess that tasks her followers to protect the balance, not just between the wilds and expansion, but to protect the balance within as well.
Please do a song for Henry Crabgrass! With his consent of course!
An entire song would probably be too much, but collection of side-characters song could include Henry.

I love reading all of the comments because 99.9% of them are overwhelmingly positive and loving, and we all need some positivity these days
And the best part is that the 0.1% just comes from people wanting to know the lyrics, and requesting other songs because of how much they enjoy this music!
Not gunna lie, the best part of your songs (other than fueling my tears) is that you always leave in pressing stop at the end. Gives it an extra feeling that just makes me love it more. Amazing as always
So, one of my players, a tenth level spores druid/bear barbarian and servant of Melora was leaving us this past week. It was found that his cancer would not be conducive to play moving forward. So everyone at the table knew that he wasn't going to be playing with us next week.
His character has been fighting off the spores, (this was how he designed the character I did not make this story choice, though in recent weeks the mind of the spores had begun to try and be a little bit more conciliatory towards the host body), and it was becoming clear that soon the spores would take over.
So, at the tail end of a dungeon -after a series of poor rolls on everyone's part, the entire dungeon was awakened and chasing after them.
They found themselves at the end of the hall where there was no exit. To group began talking of making a last stand in a large room, but knew they weren't getting out of it.
So, Glad (the spores druid) made as if he was going to follow them into that room, then used Earth shape to close the door behind him as he locked them in, and him out.
He activated his spores, and for the next 23 minutes fought off about half a horde of enraged cultist zombies alone. When it was nearing the end, I played this song.
My players cried. It was the best.

All of the Nein's songs hit a certain way, but especially this, coupled with Seasons and Mothers, hit different.

I have literally been attempting to sing this to myself since it was first posted but I can't get through without getting caught up by tears. I've got a whole new character concept I'm working on now inspired by it as well. There's no way for me to express how wonderful I find this song.
When the words "you will see.... and breathe....." first were sung I was legit crossing my fingers for the next word to be "me" cause that's such a good line.

Hooray for challenging yourself! The beat works well in a song about nature/oceans, powerful and defining without breaking the calming tone of the music. Also great breathe control supporting a soft but steady tone in the higher register, that's not easy!

The three voices give the song a relaxing, lullaby feel, but also makes it seem like it really is the all-encompassing voice of the Wildmother speaking. This is wonderful!

My friends and I are still in the beginning of our own Wildemount campaign that takes place in the same universe as Vox Machina and the Mighty Nein. My character is from Uthodern and her mother disappeared when she was ten. Her father never held a funeral and never told her what really happened but always said she died and to forget about her. I had this idea that before her mother disappeared, she would sing my character to sleep with a lullaby that she would hum to herself whenever she needed comfort. My character worships the Moonweaver but I think the lullaby was something a lot like this. This is absolutely beautiful.
