i like how open he is about everything
Great interview. Micah describes exactly how I've felt for so long, he gives me hope that I'm on the right path and that I'm not alone.
One of my new favorite bands, this testimony is awesome! God is definitely amazing, and it's cool seeing bands like these guys fully dedicating themselves to Christ :)
I'm hoping i'll be able to reach people as well through my band and testimony as well!
@HeavenlyThought The verses in Leviticus that talk about tattoos are, from my interpretation, talking about paganistic rituals. Leviticus 19:28 says "Dont cut your bodies for the dead, and dont mark your skin with tattoos. I am the Lord". Back then there was a lot of rituals that pagans did marking themselves over the dead. The verse before that 19:27 says "Dont trim the hair...or trim your beards", to say you go to hell for getting tattoos is to say you go to hell for getting a haircut also.
Thats frigging right My friend
amazing dude thanks for the upload
is hush yael personal to a member?
@Tazthewonderdog sorry re-read your question. He never said it was a law, not quite sure what daokine was getting at with the "Let there be light" bit. sorry, I misunderstood your meaning
He's totally correct about the questions thing. I have a lot of questions about God and the Bible, but I know that God loves me and cares at the end of the day.
oh my fucking gosh. I went and read Jeremiah 1-10 and its exactly his story. Either he is bullshitting his life or he is truly blessed.
Haha i'm totally in this video XD anyway. This was a fantastic video. What an amazing dude who has God doing some amazing things through him. God bless!
This all depends on context. At the time this was written in Leviticus, tattoos were a strictly pagan thing that didn't have any relevance to God. So if you had a tattoo it meant that you were a follower of either Molech, Baal or Asheroth. As well, piercings at that time showed that you were someones slave and that they had complete ownership over you. Given context, those reasons for not having tattoos or piercings isn't relevant today.
Jesus loves you. God bless heal save and forgive you in Jesus name amen.
@origintiny Hush Yael is about Samir Kuntar who shot dead Danny Haran and beat his 4 year old daughter to death. Haran's wife and other daughter Yael were hiding in the house whilst Kuntar did this, but Yael was accidently smothered by Smadar, her mother, whilst she was trying to stop her crying and alerting the terrorists to their hiding place
I hugged him last night.
Such an amazing dude
@Tazthewonderdog try the first chapter of Genesis
@daokine Revelation, 19th chapter... 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name WRITTEN ON HIM that no one knows but he himself... 16 On his robe and ON HIS THIGH he has this name WRITTEN: King Of Kings And Lord Of Lords...
What song at the beginning?
I think We Are the Archers
Amen
@azurenex haha that's true actually. When I first saw it I read it as "learnedt" and it wasn't until I had written a reply that my brain caught on.
Sorry for the attempted insult, it was uncalled for.
Just curious though, where are you from? I'm just asking because while words like "learnt" and "pillock" aren't completely foreign, they are a little unusual in Americanized english.
@HeavenlyThought So to me, its an old law that is directed at something completely different.
If your going to get tattoos, I think they shouldnt be in mouring of a lost one because we are told to let the dead go. And it should bring glory to God. I plan on having a sleeve dedicated to Gods love.
Also, I dont think God is going to deny people such as Micah or the guys from Sleeping Giant entry to Heaven because of their tattoos
@daokine have you read Hebrews 8? It literally says that Gods Old Covenant is now Obsolete, and that Jesus Christ Represents the NEW Covenant with man, the Old Covenant no long applies to us.
Hope the make a video for ''Hush Yael'', That song is sicks!!
@azurenex Yeah, I don;t know. It was late. All I know is that Micah speaks from his heart, and he's an honest guy.
God´s word was, is and will be forever, he said once there will be light and we still have light. God said to Moses "don´t make signs on your body because your body belongs to God and when you die you should give the body back to God how you got it" And this word is forever. Christ didn´t save us from these laws but only from the sins and bought us through his blood from the devils claws. Read it in the bible, cause I don´t know the exact chapter.
can someone please answer this question for me: i want to be a christian, and i guess you could say my journey has only just begun. but what i could never understand about Christian bands is the tattoos. why would god want you to deface this beautiful thing he has given you? dosnt it say in the bible your body is god temple? this is why im never sure with these "christian bands" ps i do love oh sleeper
so he can explain them. conversation starter to talk about Christ 😉
This is so much better than the horrible Bryan Stars interview. XD
@daokine Since when is "Let there be light" an old Testament law? Try to find that in the Bible, good sir.
Haha the atheists on here saying that faith is irrelevant to Oh Sleeper. Seriously? The only reason this band does what they do is because of their faith in Jesus.
Jesus came to this world to free us from the Old Law, why hold on to it?
NOW HOLD ON ONE MOMENT! i have a question. what is the symbol of your band? what is it? because it looks like the bottom half of sumthing that shouldnt be on anything Christian, and what about the verse Abstain from all appearances of evil 1 Thessalonians 5:22? i love the band love the music i just got questions for you the band pplz
interesting outlook on it. and i have not put the band off i love their music. and with the whole cd son of the morning i think it referances the songs referance the whole fight the whole war between good and evil
***** and also, there is no such thing as an upside down star, which is why it represents the chaos and ungodlyness
***** thank you for your comments i appriciate them :)
***** God bless :) just been looking at a lota vids about how Christian metal is not godly and 1 Thessalonians 5 : 22 ...or 22 : 5 i cant remember sry about how it says do not have any appearance of evil
and i do look them up before i listen i got into some very bad music when i first listened. but sum of them can be kinda rude when talking about why they do things the way they do.
@Willscreamformoney All I was trying to do was show him his comment didn't make sense. I know that God said let there be light in Genesis, but it was hardly a law.
Haha "I see Him more as a protector than holding lambs and children" agreed!
@daokine if everyone else's argument doesn't fit your fancy, read 1 Corinthians 10:31 broski!
Its like some of you guys have never met an atheist before. Micah is a nice guy but his story is not much different from other christians ive seen.
@boyburnsgrey im british.
if its so irrelevant then why is he saying that its his driving force.....just food for thought fellow sleepers
Legit! I control the top rated comments!
sweet
But for all we know it could be a scar from the crucifixion, not necessarily a tattoo.
@azurenex so why are you watching these videos? just to troll?
Very good view on god
I really am scared that this Micah could go into the background, now that Oh, Sleeper isn't exclusively focused on Christ now. But I love the band and am hopeful. ;)
@shittyshittybangy well sometimes they have their tattoos from before they were christian. But also, the bible isnt completely clear about tattoos and piercings, and where it says that the body is a temple for the spirit of God and you should respect it is true but that can apply that to a lot of things. Anyways, if you end getting a tattoo anyway, it should glorify God or represent your love for God. If it turns out that we're about the tattoo stuff, then trust me God will forgive us, im sure.
@shittyshittybangy It's just one of those questions that will always be around, the Bible does say that, it also says to take out your piercings...Personally I believe if it's wrong, it's a good thing we have a father that's willing to forgive us for anything. haha
@B3NV01i0 not true. plenty of people dont have beliefs. I dont ''believe'' people who pick one (or a selection) of mythological characters out of a list of millions, decide their choice is true, and the rest of the list isnt, and then base their life on it, crazy. I just take it for how it appears.
@B3NV01i0 cherry picking. take the bits you like and ignore the rest. also, i didnt once mention god... nor do i 'see him' as anything at all. for he is a low budget fictional character, as, unlike Harry Potter or Superman, there was no team of proof readers to keep contradictions to a minimum and keep all the far-fetched fantasies of the various (truely creative) writers from colliding in an explosion of crazy.
Also, I have no beliefs. I stick to stuff going on in the real world.
@shittyshittybangy
not gonna lie, I did laugh at your username lol. but your question is hard to answer. I dont think what they do their bodies is wrong, and yes it does say that in the bible from what i remember from a long time ago, but yeah im just rambling haha
@Roflmao0001 just maybe yes, but if anything, just dont get pointless pictures on your skin and I hope your tat comes out well too! but besides what the bible says, there's some health risks to consider as well. So, take your chances but just try to make up for it i guess.. haha
