It was adapted into a TV anime by Doga_Kobo on July 9, 2015. The anime is directed by Outa Masahiko and written by Aoshima Takeshi. The soundtrack is composed by Misawa Yasuhiro. The characters are designed by Takano_Aya. It has also been adapted into a PSP game on December 3, 2015. A spinoff, titled Akita_Imokko!_Ebina-chan, focusing on Ebina began on December 7, 2015. It is also written and drawn by Sankaku Head. The series follows Umaru Doma, a high school girl who lives with her older brother Taihei. In public, Umaru appears to be the ideal student with good looks, top grades, a lot of talent, and a gentle and elegant demeanor. Everyone either admires or envies her, but once she gets home, she reverts into a layabout who spends her time lying around, playing video games, and constantly depending on her older brother, much to Taihei's dismay. Over the course of the series, Umaru's alternative personalities help her become friends with her female classmates Kirie Motoba, who has a reputation of glaring at people; and Sylphynford Tachibana, a competitive school rival; both of whom turn out to be little sisters of Taihei's coworkers.
